Wai Eyre Farm is pleased to welcome the very well performed, and extremely well bred trotting stallion, One Over da Moon to stand at stud.
Recently retired sound from racing at the age of 8, One Over da Moon has had an illustrious career, winning 22 races including 5 group wins in New Zealand and Australia. His performances, including being a Jewels winner as a 2yo, saw him win 2yo Trotter of the Year as well as winning The Holmfield, The Ashburton Flying Mile and the Cranbourne Cup.
By the Champion sire Majestic Son, and out of the formidable race mare, One Over Kenny, One Over da Moon has a pedigree overflowing with performance, speed and soundness.
One Over Kenny herself won over a million dollars in stakes from her 32 wins, retiring sound as a 9yo. She won two Rowe Cups, The NZ Trotting Championship, the Great Northern Trotting Derby and the NZ National Trot twice. She won 3yo Trotting Filly of the Year, Trotter of the Year twice, and Trotting Mare of the Year as well as Australian Trotting Mare of the Year.
She was an absolute star on the track and to-date has had six progeny to race and six winners - an amazing family!
One Over da Moon has had a fantastic head start to his stud career, having already sired a small crop while still racing.
From just two foals of racing age, he has had one winner - the promising One Apollo, 3 wins and $78,781 to-date, including the 2018 Listed PGG 2yo Yearling Sales Final.

Sire of a Group Winner From Just Two to Race!!

In a fantastic siring effort, One Over Da Moon has claimed his first Group Winner from just two to race (and important to note, from only two of racing age) when the 4yo, One Apollo won the Group 3 Lamb & Heyward 4&5yo Trotting Championship in a mighty battle with the favourite, and very well performed Winterfell.

One Apollo now has 7 wins to-date with earnings of $121,058 and is looking like he will be a serious open class trotter. The lighter raced Da Moons Mission, also a 4yo, is now a multiple winner and has now recorded 2 wins to-date.

This is a remarkable feat by One Over Da Moon who has settled in well here at Wai Eyre to life as a full time stallion. Proving extremely fertile with top quality semen, he can also boast a 100% success rate at getting his 2019 book of mares in foal at their 42 day scans. It seems he will excel in the breeding barn like he did on the racetrack!

With his next oldest progeny only being 2yo's, only one, the classy filly, Da Light of the Moon has qualified to date. At her only start to-date, she showed tremendous gate and early speed, however her chances of adding to her sire's statistics were blown when she galloped on the home turn. She does however, look to be one to watch with interest as she matures. Early reports from other 2yo's in work indicate One Over Da Moon is leaving quality trotters that look sure to perform on the track.

But this should all come as no surprise when you consider his own race record, and look closely at the superb family he comes from, in particular his dam line - the mighty millionairess One Over Kenny, who also has performed outstandingly in the breeding paddock like she did on the race track, being the dam of 6 to race to-date for six winners including Ultimate Stride.

- One Over Da Moon has had a head start on his stallion career, and already has 14 foals on the ground - 2 born in 2015 (the only one to race to-date is the 3 win One Apollo), 11 born in 2017 and one born in 2018.
- Early reports from owners of his progeny indicate that he is leaving quality, well conformed foals that are being well received by trainers.
