2YO BREEDERS CROWN WINNER
BAY STALLION - FOALED 2021
Wai Eyre Farm is thrilled to stand the impeccably bred Enchauffour for Yabby Dam Farms for the first time this season.
A Breeders Crown champion as a two-year-old, Enchauffour offers juvenile racing brilliance and a pedigree designed to capture the best of North American and French blood.
Enchauffour is by Volstead, a highly rated sire in his own right making his presence felt on the world breeding stage, bringing the powerful Cantab Hall/Yankee Glide cross through his sire side.
Excitingly for breeders, Enchauffour is the first son of Volstead to stand at stud, giving breeders the opportunity to tap into these bloodlines at an affordable fee.
His dam, Dream Island, belongs to one of France’s most outstanding maternal families.
She is out of a daughter of Island Dream, who won eight times at Group level, and left Italian Derby winner, Infinitif – a leading international sire.
The combination of in demand North American blood through Volstead, and the impressive French maternal line makes Enchaffour an attractive and impressive proposition at stud, encapsulating the very best international credentials.
Enchauffour had an impressive juvenile career on the racetrack.
Racing as a two and three-year old, he won five of his 15 career starts (including the Breeders Crown), he also placed on six further occasions including a close second to Mercano in the Breeders Crown and Vicbred Super Series Final before injury cut his racing career tragically short.
Injured at the start of his 3 year old, he raced on following extensive treatment, but he was never able to show his full potential year.

NEW FOR 2026
Trainer Jess Tubbs rated the horse extremely highly, stating that we never saw the best of his potential.
“Enchauffour", or King as we knew him, was a horse with incredible presence both on and off the track.”
“He was one of Greg’s (Sugars) favourites thanks to his phenomenal acceleration and high cruising speed. It was a shame we never got to see him meet his full potential, having been forced into an early retirement without ever being fully extended.”
For breeders seeking the very best in international bloodlines, Enchauffour represents wonderful value as a breeding choice for their trotting mare.
Wai Eyre Farm is proud to once again work with Yabby Dam Farms.
“We are thrilled to offer this impressive son of Volstead to breeders in New Zealand, in partnership with Pat and his team,” said Darryl Brown.
“Together we strive to offer the very best bloodlines at an affordable price, and Enchaffour certainly ticks all the boxes in that category.”
“Adding his pedigree along with his dominance as a two-year-old on the track, we are excited about his career at stud.”
He stands at $1,500 plus GST for New Zealand breeders, with the working fee included on farm at Wai Eyre Farm.
