Wai Eyre Farm Stallion Open Day

Would you like to win a free stallion service this breeding season?

Wai Eyre Farm is proud to present our stallion open day on Saturday 17 October 2026.

We are also offering breeders a chance to win free services to our on farm stallions, plus a frozen service to Village Mystic and one service to EL Titan.

Breeders, owners, industry members and racing fans are welcome to attend from 1.30pm where we will parade our on-farm stallions offering a unique opportunity to see our established and new additions to the on-farm stallion roster.

Living legend Lazarus is sure to be an attraction for many who wish to see the great horse in the flesh again. He has settled into life on the farm impeccably, and is of course the proud sire of Group One winners The Lazarus Effect and Nathan Street, and millionaire Voukefalas.

US Captain is also a stallion that the public will be keen to view, arriving last season to Wai Eyre Farm, he is one hundred percent New Zealand owned by Wai Eyre Farm in partnership with Macca Lodge. By World Champion Captaintreacherous, out of World Champion American Jewel, he is an individual that will impress upon inspection and his first New Zealand foals are wonderful types.

rotting sire Carlton will also be presented, and is a stallion doing a wonderful job from limited numbers. With recent impressive winners Just For Today and Brooks Spirit heading to feature racing, he offers great value and the reports on his progeny have been extremely positive with many repeat breedings to him.

Our partners at Yabby Dam Farms will be with us on the day to present their fresh on-farm stallions including two new additions to Wai Eyre Farm.

On A Streak remains at Wai Eyre Farm this season and has been a leading two-year-old sire in Australia with his first crop now racing. The former US Breeders Crown winner and O’Brien Two-Year-Old Colt of the Year continues to receive strong support from breeders.

Classic Connection is a new member of the on-farm line up for Yabby Dam Farms. A multiple Group race winner in Europe, he’s a stunning son of Love You and is also getting great results in Australia with his two and three-year-old crops. Breeders will be impressed upon viewing.

Standing his first season at stud in 2026, Enchauffour is the only son of Volstead standing in Australasia. He is a former Australian Breeders Crown winner and had a big future ahead of him on the track before injury as a three-year-old ceased his racing career. He offers great value and is a must see for trotting breeders in his first season.

Yabby Dam Farms will also discuss their frozen stallions on the day, available to New Zealand breeders and their newly announced $75,000 2YO Trotters Classic race in which all foals bred to one of their fresh or frozen stallions this season will be eligible for.

Afternoon hospitality at Dancingonmoonlight Farm

Following the presentation of stallions guests will be invited at 3pm to travel through Wai Eyre Farm before arriving at Dancingonmoonlight Farm where they will be able to enjoy hospitality and view the establishment.

Living legends Christian Cullen, Monkey King and Baileys Dream are enjoying their retirements at Dancingonmoonlight, and will be onsite for eager fans to catch a glimpse of the champions.

Keen golfers are invited to bring their clubs and have a round on the farms exclusive nine-hole three par golf course as they enjoy the hospitality.

Nigel and Brenda Armstrong are coming along with their Harness Racing Unhinged BBQ, we are extremely thankful for their ongoing support of our vision and the industry.

Holding such an interactive event presents the industry with a unique chance to see the stallions that are available, and also view the breeding operations and farms in person.

“We wanted to give breeders and members of the industry a chance to see these great horses in the flesh, but also see our farms and get a taste of what happens around breeding season,” said Darryl Brown of Wai Eyre Farm.

RSVP to be in to win

For those wanting to attend Wai Eyre Farm encourages guests to RSVP as soon as possible.

Everyone who RSVPs in advance and attends will go in the draw to win stallion services on the day.

Services available will include Village Mystic, Classic Connection, On A Streak, EL Titan, Enchauffour, Lazarus, US Captain and Carlton. (Terms and conditions will apply and will be sent on confirmation of RSVP via email).

These services will be drawn following the stallion parade at Wai Eyre Farm, and winners must be present to claim the prize.
