Driven by Gary Hall junior, the five-year-old asserted his dominance from the front and left his rivals gasping on the home turn, clearing out to win by two and a half lengths in a mile rate of 1.54.4.
A former Group One winner, Nathan Street has adapted well to the tight turning Gloucester Park track, after initially making mistakes in his early races for trainer Gary Hall senior.
Being off the unruly in most recent starts, he had encountered bad luck in the running on occasion but on Friday took that out of the equation when drawing back in the field.
Regular driver Gary Hall junior was happy with the run, and the fact the horse is finally finding his way around the Gloucester Park surface, just in time for the open features in Western Australia.
“He’s just getting better every time,” Gary Hall junior told Wai Eyre Farm.
“I think he’s the horse to beat in the final.”
The $50,000 Nights of Thunder final will be held this Friday 24 January at Gloucester Park, where the winner is guaranteed a place in the Group 3 Village Kid Sprint on February 14.
Regardless of the result this Friday, that is the aim for the connections of Nathan Street.
“Yeah he’ll definitely press on to the Village Kid Sprint after the final this week,” Hall junior confirmed.

Meanwhile, at Riverina Raceway in Wagga on Friday, Lazarus five-year-old mare Le Betty rewarded punters who sent her out a short priced $2.15 favourite.
Now trained and driven by Jackson Painting, Le Betty impressed after being forced to sit three wide over the early stages on a hot pace before finding the lead in the middle stages.
She was able to steady the tempo briefly in front, but was soon let down by Painting and put the pressure on her rivals with 600m to run.
Le Betty cruised home untested and drew away from the field, despite the early hard work over the 2200m, recording a seven length victory.
Le Betty is out of Falcon Seelster mare, Romancing Bromac (a half sister to seven win mare, Roxy Bromac). And has now won three times and placed on seven occasions from 29 starts.
Her best from has come over the past 12 months, indicating she has matured into a tough staying type and can expect more victories to come.
