US Captain leaving impressive yearlings
Wai Eyre Farm and Macca Lodge have been extremely impressed with recent footage released of US Captain sired yearlings in Canada.
Previously standing at Woodmere Standardbreds before coming to New Zealand, US Captain stood there for two seasons serving 112 mares.
His current yearlings in North America are being prepared for the Atlanta Classic Sale on October 10th, and we have been thrilled to see video of his colt consignment available through Woodmere Standardbreds.
US Captain has stamped his progeny with his brilliant looks and presence, and they are sure to impress breeders looking for a stallion who offers the worlds best pedigree at an affordable price.
“They’re impressive,” said Bruce Wood of Woodmere Standardbreds.
“We’ve got two fillies as well coming that we are yet to video. What I can tell you is that this group of US Captains are absolutely stunning!”
US Captain has already proven himself a successful sire on the track as well.
After serving a small book of mares while still racing in the United States, US Captain produced seven foals – all of which have qualified or raced – for two individual winners so far.
Including Send Me Ten (2 wins at two-years-old) and Hawaiian Warfare (5 starts, 4 wins, 1 third to date) and will start in the Delaware Breeders Stakes heats this week.
US Captain offers breeders the very best in modern racing pedigrees, being the son of World Champion Captaintreacherous and out of the legendary mare, and World Champion, American Jewel.
He raced at the highest level during his racing career, and served 94 mares in his first season down under.
At just $3,000 plus GST, US Captain’s service fee includes the working fee for mares served at Wai Eyre Farm and Macca Lodge.
He can be inspected at the Wai Eyre Farm Stallion Open Day on Saturday 17 October 2026.
