Lazarus continues to deliver with his racing progeny in North America.
Over the past week he has sired 13 winners across the United States, and remarkably produced eight winners on Sunday alone (New Zealand time).
Three-year-old filly Whoa Black Betty was an impressive winner for Lazarus at The Meadowlands.
She was entered in the second round of heats for the New Jersey Sires Stakes Silver series, and sent out a short priced favourite for driver Yannick Gingras.
In wet spring conditions the daughter of Lazarus made a move to lead at the half mile point, before being taken on in an attacking speed duel by Ladysassin.
Whoa Black Betty showed huge heart and resilience to burn off the challenge, and dug deep in the home straight to win by three lengths well clear of her rivals.
She has indicated she will be a strong contender for the $40,000 Silver Fillies Final which will be held on August 7 this year.
Trained by Ron Burke, Whoa Black Betty has now won five races, four of which were in her two-year-old season.
Lazarus produced two winners on the card at The Meadowlands that night, with Sono Confuso delivering.
Lazarus’ full list of winners over the past seven days in the United States were:
Whoa Black Betty
Sono Confuso
Renaissance DEO
Duck Into The Nite
Twin B High Tech
Whiskey Breath
Gandalf The Bay
Kikax Charlie
Simply Fast
Vici
Be Merciful
Mr Three O Five
Please Be You
In Australia Lazarus also tasted success over the weekend with Two Cracked Corn (4 wins to date) and Paradigm (5 wins to date).
